Blog Challenge-Week 10-Part B

Here is my audit:

How many posts did you write?

I wrote 47 posts (including this one).

How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?

16 were school based, 9 were my own interests and23 were set by the challenge.

How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?

I received 35 comments from classmates (20 by other classmates, and 15 by me), 8 by teachers and 6 from other students (not in my class). I’m not sure if all of them are overseas.

Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?

My “Blog Challenge-Week 9-Doing My Best” Post received the most comments (15!). I think this happened because I had commented on the post which had the challenge (on the Student Blogging Challenge website), so lots of people could view it easily. Also, this had my replies to comments as well, so that might have increased the number. The final reason why this might have happened is because it was in the Student Blogging Challenge Flipbook magazine.

Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?

I couldn’t choose between 2 posts: Top 10 Cartoon Characters, and Blog Challenge Week 9: Doing my best (in which I wrote a post on Family). I think I enjoyed writing these the most because the whole post was on my opinion, and I enjoy writing that. The “Family” post was interesting, because you were supposed to try to write your best post, preparing for the Edublogs Awards. I also like cartoon characters, so that’s another reason.

Did you change blog themes at all and why?

Yes. I did. The first theme I had was Borderline Chaos, but I soon found out that some of my widgets were covering my posts. That’s why I changed it to Quintus have changed the background many times, and they were normally pretty colourful.

How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?

I have 6 widgets. I think that this is an OK number; if I had a bit more, it would be OK as well. I have 1 Welcome Voki, A revolving earth map, a weather widget, A Student Blogging Challenge 2014 badge, A Live Traffic Feed and a pet.

How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll?

Currently, I have no oversea students on my blogroll.

Blog Challenge- Week 10 (Part A)- Nominating Blogs

The Edublogs Awards are coming up soon! This week, we were supposed to nominate a blog; either a class one, or a student one. I chose to nominate a class blog. This blog isn’t just any regular blog; it is run by a homeschooling mother! Last year, I also chose to do a class blog, but not the same one as I did this year. Here is the link to that blog post:

And here is the link to the blog that I nominated:

Anyways, the blog that I nominated this year is Homeschool Towers. It is run by Ms. Mara. She has created an amazing blog. One of the reasons I really like this blog is, the posts are very interesting. This is one of the main necessities of great blogs. Now, what exactly makes the posts interesting? Well, she uses a variety of digital tools for every post. So far, I have seen (on her blog) a comic from Bitstrips, a slideshow from Powtoon, a sticky note wall from Padlet, a video from YouTube, and of course, lots and lots of pictures.

Also, I really liked the background design of this blog. Also, there is only one pet fox, which is adorable. This blog has widgets, and they are used to count how many people visited the blog, what the weather is like, and even a daily cartoon! She also has a widget that compares her time to the visitor’s time. Another cool thing about this blog is they have their own Flipboard Magazine. There is also a widget that shows Ms. Mara’s Twitter feeds.

These are only some of the things that make this blog great. One more thing, though; the link to this blog! Here it is:

“WE R FAMILY!”

Things that make families great

Having a family is the best thing you can ever have. Some of you might not agree. Maybe because your siblings might annoy you a lot, your parents keep bugging you to do your chores, or other things. My sister annoys me a lot too, and my parents are always telling me to get stuff for them. Your family isn’t trying to be mean to you, though. If your siblings annoy you, they’re just having fun with you, and you are just helping your parents make their job easier by doing chores.

You may not have any best buds’ to play with at recess, but don’t worry, because your family will always be there for you. This doesn’t end when you’re an adult, and everyone has separated, though. First of all, it’s not IMPOSSIBLE to see each other again…even if you live at opposite ends of the world. You can still see each other by flying over. Also, “family” isn’t just your siblings and parents; all your relatives are included, so it may be just easier to get to one of these rather than your parents/siblings.

Whenever you need help for anything, who is normally the first one to help you? I’m guessing that it’s probably someone in your family. Whether you are confused on a homework question, or need help solving a problem, your family is just a call away! Everyone is good at something, so a lot of the things you may need guidance in are covered.

I love my family for all these reasons. Remember, though; this doesn’t mean that I DON’T get mad at my family sometimes. All families have their up’s and down’s! ☺☻☺☻

What do I like to do outside?

Summer is almost here…but the temperatures feel like it’s already here! One of my favourite things to do outside is to ride my bike. Here are some things that I love about this fun activity:

  • It feels really good…the cool wind blowing in your face.
  • You don’t have to put on a lot of things; you just put on your helmet, and hop on!
  • My house is right in front of a park, so if my parents can’t come, they can keep an eye on me from inside the house.
  • The park has a trail so I can either do laps around the field, or really big ones (where I go to the trail from my house, go around to the parking lot and back home).
  • The trail has a slope, so if I go on the slope (it’s very tiring), I can play in the park for a while.
  • You get exercise, and don’t even realize it!

You can ride your bike with your friends, parents, siblings, or even by yourself! That is why I love to do this.

The Best Part of Me!

At school, we read a book called The Best Part of Me, and we made our own card of the best part of ourselves. We had to take a picture of the best part, then draw it. This was very difficult. We also had to create some sort of writing piece that goes with it. Here is my card:

My Favourite Part of My Room

One of my favourite hobbies is to read. Books can take you on amazing adventures. I sometimes even mimic (for no reason) the activities the characters are doing! For example, I was reading a book, in which a  character yawned. Right after I read that sentence, I yawned! I guess yawns are contagious.☺

Since I love to read, you may have guessed what the favourite part of my room is…my bookshelf!

Here is a picture of it:

What I love about it is, you can put books in the bottom, and on the top, you can put things such as an alarm clock, trophies, and other things, like I did. Another great thing about it is, it’s attached to my bed, so I can read before I go to sleep, and put them away (I normally don’t do that). Some of the books I have are mine, and some of them, my sister gave to me, since she didn’t read them any more.  All of the things that are on this shelf are very useful in the morning and at night. For example, my alarm clock helps me wake up, and I turn the alarm on at night; in the summer, I use my remote (which is for my ceiling fan) to turn the fan on while I sleep. I also use both these things during the day. I use this shelf to display things, such as my trophies, and stuffy’s. Recently I found some of my stuffy’s that I played with when I was a baby, and I put them on my shelf. They are the Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore ones.

These are some of the reasons why my bookshelf is awesome. ☺☻☺☻
