“Hello. This is Aashi, reporting live from Washington. There is a tremendous shutdown going on here. Tons of employees are losing jobs. An employee working at Wal-Mart is ‘jobless’. How did this even happen?”

Employee: “Well, Obama and the Republicans don’t have an agreement on how much money they have/we get. Since they haven’t made a decision, they don’t have any money for our salaries.”

“Why aren’t they agreeing on how much money should be kept?”

Employee: “This is because the republicans said that for Obama’s idea to be kept, he would have to do some changes to ‘Obamacare’. Barak Obama didn’t agree with this.”

 

“What is ‘Obamacare’?”

Employee: “‘Obamacare’ is like medical insurance.”

“Where is the shutdown going on?”

“It’s going on throughout USA at about every store.”

Me: “Wow! That’s a lot of jobs being lost. So that was Amelia, who is one of the millions of people who are jobless. Back to you.”

Mississauga was established in 1968 as a town. The name “Mississauga” comes from the Anishinaabe (Native Language) word Misi-zaagiing, meaning “Those at the Great River-mouth.”  The Iroquoian and the Algonquian were living in the Credit Valley River area. There are great places to visit in Mississauga, such as the Marlyn Monroe Towers, which are actually condos. Mississauga is also home of the Steelheads (junior hockey team). Square One Mall is also a great place to visit. It is a big mall, maybe even the largest in Mississauga. There are lots of things close to Square One that should be seen as well, such as Civic Center and the Living Arts Center. The Civic Centre has a splash pad in the summer, which freezes to ice to become a skating rink in the winter. Just beside the Civic Centre is Central Library.  Central Library has lots of floors, and of course, lots of books! It is one of my favourite library’s. It’s so BIG! The Living Arts Centre is the place where most shows and events are held. Parts of the annual Canada Day celebration are also held there.  All of this is located in downtown Mississauga (including the Marlyn Monroe Towers).

Mississauga is a great place. As you can see, Downtown Mississauga has lots of activities. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t visit the rest of Mississauga.
